In the cold winter months, the Progressive Vision NGO in Dumka, Jharkhand, stands as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged by conducting impactful blanket distribution drives. Recognizing that the dropping temperatures pose a severe health risk to those living in open shacks or on the streets, the NGO mobilizes its volunteers to reach the most vulnerable, including tribal families, widows, and the elderly. By providing high-quality, thick woolen blankets, Progressive Vision does more than just offer physical warmth; it grants dignity and a sense of security to those who often feel forgotten by society. These initiatives, frequently carried out in the remote areas and slums near the Dumka railway station, are a vital part of the organization’s broader mission to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the rural poor and ensure that no one in the community has to suffer through the chilling nights without protection.

We are dedicated to bring overall development of entire rural areas in Dumka. We focus on improving basic infrastructure, providing access to quality education and healthcare, and empowering local communities through skill development and livelihood programs. We focus on creating better living conditions and opportunities and aim to transform villages into self-reliant, progressive communities where every individual can lead a dignified life and contribute to the region’s overall growth.

Secured and sustainable employment is essential to reduce rising unemployment among youth. We focus on providing skill-based training, entrepreneurship support, and vocational programs to empower young people to earn a stable income. Equipping them with practical skills and connecting them to job opportunities or self-employment avenues help them build confidence, become financially independent, and actively participate in the economic development of their families and communities.

A society that ensures liberty for all, especially women, is unstoppable in its progress. We believe every woman must be empowered, educated, and financially independent. To support this, we launched training programs in tailoring and dress stitching. Over 300 women have benefited, gaining valuable skills and confidence. Today, more than 50 of them proudly own and run their own garment businesses, contributing actively to their families and society.

Farmers are the backbone of our country, yet they often struggle due to a lack of proper guidance and modern techniques. To help, we organize farmer training programs and conduct live demonstrations on advanced agricultural strategies to boost productivity. We also distribute high-quality seeds to support them further. Our initiatives have empowered farmers to increase their crop yields and improve their livelihoods, leading to greater economic stability in rural areas.

Mushroom cultivation is a highly profitable venture that needs minimal space and a small investment. We actively promote it and provide specialised training to interested farmers and entrepreneurs. Our program covers all aspects, from setup to marketing. This initiative has been widely appreciated, and we are honored to have received an award from the Jharkhand Government for our outstanding efforts in this field, motivating us to continue empowering rural communities.

We actively promote the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), an important scheme by the Government of India aimed at “Har Khet Ko Pani” (water to every field) and improving water use efficiency. By raising awareness and helping farmers adopt micro-irrigation techniques, we support sustainable water management and boost agricultural productivity. Our efforts ensure farmers get the maximum benefit from this transformative scheme, securing better livelihoods and food security.
